Author Guidelines

Authors submitting manuscripts to NJTAI are expected to comply with the following submission requirements:

• Language and Originality: Manuscripts must be written in clear academic English, must not have been published previously, and must not be under consideration for publication elsewhere.
• Scope: The manuscript must address at least one dimension of trustworthy artificial intelligence and fall within one or more subject areas defined in the NJTAI Focus and Scope.
• Review Version: Authors must upload an anonymized manuscript for the double-blind peer-review process. The manuscript should not contain author names, affiliations, acknowledgments that reveal identity, or identifying file metadata. Author information must be entered separately through the OJS submission system.
• Format: Manuscripts must be prepared using the official NJTAI Microsoft Word Template, formatted on A4 paper in a single-column layout for review. Figures and tables should be clear and readable, and section numbering must be applied consistently. A typical full research article should contain approximately 4,000–8,000 words, excluding references and supplementary materials.
• Required Structure: A complete manuscript should include the following sections: Title, Abstract (approximately 150–250 words), Four to Six Keywords, Introduction, Related Work or Theoretical Background (where applicable), Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgments, Funding Statement, Conflict of Interest Statement, Ethics Statement (where applicable), Data and Code Availability, Author Contributions, and References.
• Methods and Evidence: Research methods must be described in sufficient detail to enable evaluation and replication. Authors should clearly report dataset composition, sampling procedures, data preprocessing, training/validation/testing strategies, evaluation metrics, uncertainty estimation, baseline comparisons, ablation or sensitivity analyses (where relevant), study limitations, and potential failure modes.
• Trustworthy AI Reporting: Authors should explicitly identify the dimensions of trustworthy AI addressed in the study and provide appropriate supporting evidence, such as safety testing, robustness analysis, explainability evaluation, fairness assessment, privacy protection, human oversight, auditability, reproducibility, or environmental impact assessment.
• Figures and Tables: Figures must be publication-ready and, for raster images, preferably have a minimum resolution of 300 dpi. Tables should be editable and must not be submitted as screenshots. Every figure and table should include a self-contained caption and be cited sequentially in the manuscript.
• References: All references must follow the IEEE numerical citation style. Citations should be accurate, complete, relevant, and include persistent identifiers such as DOIs whenever available.
• Data, Code, and Materials: Authors are encouraged to deposit non-sensitive datasets, source code, model configurations, prompts, and supplementary materials in trusted public repositories. Where data or materials cannot be shared, the reasons for the restriction should be clearly stated.
• AI Tool Disclosure: Any material use of generative AI or other automated tools in manuscript preparation, data analysis, programming, figure generation, or language editing must be transparently disclosed. Authors remain fully responsible for verifying the accuracy of all AI-assisted content and must ensure that confidential or personal information has not been submitted to unauthorized AI services.
• Declarations: Authors must provide all applicable declarations regarding funding sources, conflicts of interest, ethics approval, informed consent, data availability, code availability, and individual author contributions.
